Quantitative Research / Engineer
Christos joined PortfolioStrat in 2015 as a full-stack engineer with concentration on machine learning. He is also involved in fine-tuning and evolving the user interface of the project.
Prior to joining PortfolioStrat, Christos held a post-doctoral research fellow position at The Cyprus Institute, STARC. Christos studied at the California State University Fullerton, USA, for his bachelor and the University of Southampton, UK, for his master and PhD degrees in Computer Science. His research background lies in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Semantic Web, Machine Learning, and Information Retrieval. For his PhD thesis, Christos investigated the use of Bayesian inference networks to integrate and search arbitrary RDF/graph data from multiple sources. His studies were sponsored by the EnAKTing project, which was an EPSRC-funded project dedicated to solving fundamental problems in achieving an effective web of Linked Data.
Christos enjoys working at PortfolioStrat for the challenging algorithmic problems and the wide range of technologies and standards involved.
